From May 7 to 9, 2024, the 10th TCT Asia 2024 was successfully held in Shanghai at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). The 10th TCT ASIA 2024 was successfully held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from May 7th to 9th. As the largest and most influential additive manufacturing industry exhibition in Asia, it has attracted more than 400 enterprises to gather and explore cutting-edge technologies and application innovations in additive manufacturing. Based on the theme of “Focusing on Application Scenarios and Promoting Industrialized Applications”, Sailong introduced a new series of selective electron beam melting (SEBM®) equipment that is equipped with an indirectly heated electron gun. Sailong also showed the latest SEBM application cases and engaged in discussions on SEBM solutions with numerous industry experts and customers.

Sailong has taken the lead in launching a series of commercial SEBM equipment equipped with indirectly heated tungsten cathode electron guns in the world. The minimum beam diameter is less than 100μm, filament life is more than 500h and preheat temperature is up to 1100℃ above. The main equipment types include Y150 Plus (forming size 170x170x180mm), T200 (forming size 200x200x450mm), H400 (forming size 400x400x400mm), which are suitable for high-efficiency, mass production, and low-cost manufacturing of titanium alloys, refractory metals and alloys, titanium aluminum and other brittle and easily cracked materials, copper and copper alloys, zirconium alloys, nickel-based high-temperature alloys, ceramic/metal composite materials.

Sailong has also introduced its series of Plasma Rotating Electrode Process (PREP) equipment and established a mass production line for high-quality metal powders. The SLPA-D type is suitable for the rapid R&D of small batch and multi-variety new metal powders in university research institutes. The SLPA-N is suitable for industrial mass metal powder production. The powder sphericity is greater than 95% with little or no satellite powders or hollow powders. The overall oxygen content increment in the powder-making process is less than 100 ppm.

In the medical orthopedics field, Sailong has demonstrated the advantages of batch production, high efficiency, and low cost of standardized orthopedic implants by SEBM, as well as innovative breakthroughs in personalized implants such as porous tantalum and zirconium niobium alloys. Establish an SEBM printing orthopedic implant production line with an annual output of 50000 pieces, and assist relevant medical institutions in completing more than 200 clinical trials of porous tantalum, continuously supporting precision medicine.

In the automotive industry field, for heat treatment needs such as half shafts and wheel hubs, Sailong has demonstrated a variety of complex structures and industry-leading SEBM printed copper induction coils and solutions. Compared with traditional processes, the lifespan of coils is 2-3 times longer, energy consumption is reduced by 15-20%, and the manufacturing cycle of individual parts is shortened by about 85%, achieving quality improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement for users.

In the aerospace field, Sailong showcases full plate titanium aluminum blades, unsupported printed parts, lightweight sheets, etc., fully demonstrating the unique advantages and application innovation of SEBM technology in brittle and cracking materials such as thin-walled, titanium aluminum, refractory metals and alloys, and large-sized and complex components such as weight reduction structures, continuously creating value for customers.

In addition, Sailong introduced the industry-leading and independently innovative series of ultra-high speed plasma rotating electrode process (HED-PREP®)equipment and multiple high-quality spherical metal powders and solutions, achieving full coverage of metal powder production below a melting point of 3500 ℃. The ultra-high working speed (40000-50000rpm) enables the yield of high-temperature alloy fine powder to reach 80% above, empowering the development of the additive manufacturing industry to reach new heights.
