From May 7 to 9, 2024, the 10th TCT Asia 2024 was successfully held in Shanghai at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). There were 400 exhibitors and the audience popularity was unprecedentedly high. Panda3dp.com is an international 3D printing media platform owned by www.nanjixiong.com. It is a platform for Chinese 3D printing manufacturers to release the latest information to global users. As China’s professional 3D printing platform and TCT Asia 2024 strategic partner media, we have interviewed and reported on hundreds of popular 3D printing manufacturers.

From May 7 to 9, TCT ASIA 2024, an exhibition for 3D printing and additive manufacturing held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), has come to an end. BASF Forward AM showcased high-performance filaments, powders, and photopolymers for 3D printing, along with innovative applications of these materials in industries such as industrial, transportation, medical, and consumer goods. The technology and products attracted considerable attention from professional visitors, drawing a bustling crowd at the booth and fostering an engaging atmosphere for discussion.

Highlights Review

Materials for Diverse Applications, Unveiling Boundless Possibilities

In the industry application display area, BASF demonstrated the extensive use of its 3D printing materials across various sectors including industrial, automotive/transport, medical, and consumer goods. Whether it is the application of TPU flexible materials in footwear, bicycle saddles, prosthetic socket, etc., or the application of photopolymer resin in dental models, rapid molds, industrial parts, and other material applications, they all attracted many visitors. These displays highlighted the versatility of BASF’s 3D printing materials and showcased BASF’s contributions to the progress of various industry.

Innovative Materials Set the Trend, Highlight Products Attract Attention

Flexible TPU Material

BASF Forward AM’s TPU materials shone at the exhibition with their excellent elasticity, shock absorption, wear resistance, and impact resistance. The innovative lattice structure design also attracted the attention of many industry professionals.

At the venue, a basketball 3D printed from TPU powder material attracted many visitors to try and bounce it due to its rebound, lattice design, and excellent surface quality. Comfortable helmets made from TPU also drew visitors to try them on. Visitors showed great interest in the application of TPU materials in sports equipment, stopped to watch and ask for more details.

PLA High-Speed 3D Printing Material

At the exhibition, BASF Forward AM’s high-speed 3D printing materials also became an eye-catching technological highlight. Enhancing the speed of 3D printing not only requires improving the speed performance of the equipment, but the performance of the consumables is also very important.

Thanks to the material know-how of BASF, the high-quality raw materials and excellent processes, this material is suitable for high-speed 3D printing. Using this filament for 3D printing can achieve a maximum printing speed of 600mm/s, while maintaining consistent and stable printing on most high-speed printers. The material’s flexural modulus, flexural strength, elongation at break and other properties are superior to other high-speed PLA printing materials. Its Z-direction interlayer adhesion is more outstanding and better than PLA CF carbon fiber materials in the market, achieving a comprehensive improvement in printing stability, material properties and surface quality. Many visitors showed great interest in this advanced material that can significantly increase production efficiency while maintaining print quality.

This material also won the highly regarded “Best Non-Metallic Material Award” at the TCT Asia Awards. This honor not only recognizes BASF’s outstanding achievements in the field of additive manufacturing non-metallic materials but also affirms its relentless innovation and efforts.

RG3280 Photopolymer Material

As another new product from BASF Forward AM, Ultracur3D® RG 3280 has become a highlight in the field of rapid mold manufacturing. This material is a Ceramic-Filled Resin with Exceptionally High Stiffness and Temperature Resistance. Despite the high particle loading, the viscosity is kept low, and the settling of particles is limited, making this resin very easy to handle and print. Its high stiffness and temperature resistance make this the perfect material for rapid tooling and molding.

Compared to traditional manufacturing methods, molds 3D printed from RG3280 materials have demonstrated significant advantages in reducing production cycles and lowering costs, winning recognition and praise from many manufacturing professionals.

The new product area showcasing highlight products undoubtedly became an eye-catching hotspot, displaying BASF’s latest achievements in the field of 3D printing materials and highlighting its contributions to industry innovation and technological advancement.
