In early July 2024, while browsing Douyin, panda3dp.com stumbled upon a live stream from the brand "Reloading"(Reloading(重新加载),an apparel brand under Luo Yonghao's "Make Friends" investment). The stream was showcasing 3D-printed slippers. Intrigued, panda3dp.com entered the stream and was astonished to find that over ten thousand pairs of these lattice-structured 3D-printed slippers had already been sold. Consequently, panda3dp.com published an article reporting the event: "Really Hot: 3D-Printed Slippers Priced at 399 CNY Sell Tens of Thousands on Douyin, the "Genuine Stepping-on-Clouds" Experience Has Captured the Attention of Mainstream Consumers." Over the past month, panda3dp.com continued to encounter "Reloading" live streams, indicating that the brand was vigorously promoting this product. By early August, upon re-entering the live stream, it was discovered that the sales of these 3D-printed slippers on Douyin had reached 20,000 pairs. This means that within a month, nearly 10,000 more pairs had been sold. In terms of sales, this marks a significant breakthrough for 3D-printed footwear. Compared to the previously priced 3D-printed athletic shoes that often cost thousands of CNY, these more affordable 3D-printed slippers, priced in the hundreds, have significantly lowered the barrier for consumers to place orders. More and more people are now able to experience the allure of 3D printing technology. How do these 3D-printed slippers feel to wear? We captured some user reviews after purchase, and the majority of users gave positive feedback. The main advantages noted include excellent elasticity, comfortable fit, good wrapping, strong support, and superior foot feel. However, there were some mixed reviews. Some buyers felt that the slippers caused chafing when worn barefoot, others found them heavy, and some suggested wearing socks with them. It is recommended that the manufacturer address these issues in future iterations. Additionally, panda3dp.com observed that another brand, "Jifeng," recently launched 3D-printed sneakers in their live stream. These shoes also feature a lattice hollow structure, with both the sole and upper crafted using 3D printing technology, making them suitable for daily summer wear. They are priced at 1,099 CNY per pair. The "Jifeng" live stream also offers 3D-printed slippers for sale. As more footwear brands begin to introduce 3D-printed shoes, bringing 3D printing technology into households is gradually becoming a reality. |
