The annual TCT Asia Exhibition, a prominent event in the additive manufacturing industry across the Asia-Pacific region, was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from March 17 to 19, 2025. This year’s event brought together over 450 exhibitors and more than 30,000 professional attendees from around the globe to explore new industrialization pathways for 3D printing technology.

Under the theme “Innovative Breakthroughs, Shaping the Future”, Farsoon Technologies showcased its distinctive innovations in additive manufacturing. The company unveiled several cutting-edge advancements, including its proprietary beam shaping technology, melt pool monitoring, and powder bed flatness inspection. It also introduced a full range of new products, such as a metal rotary depowdering station and the high-polymer 600mm-format, four-laser Flight HT601P-4 system. Upgrades to existing systems included the 32-laser FS1521M-U, the high-cylinder CAMS-equipped FS721M series, and the FS350M series with a new six-laser configuration. These releases underscored Farsoon’s unwavering commitment to innovation and the industrialization of additive manufacturing, making it one of the most prominent highlights of the exhibition.

Beam Shaping Technology: Debut and Demonstration

At the product launch event, Farsoon unveiled its independently developed beam shaping technology to the world. This groundbreaking advancement reshapes the laser beam by adjusting the energy distribution, thereby enhancing quality and efficiency for industrial users.

In his opening remarks, Farsoon’s founder and chairman, Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, emphasized: “Independent innovation is the core driver of breakthroughs in additive manufacturing industrialization and a key approach to reducing costs and increasing efficiency.” Reflecting on the company's journey—from localizing equipment to building a fully self-owned industrial chain—Dr. Xu highlighted the need for persistent, deep-rooted R&D efforts to achieve technological breakthroughs in additive manufacturing.

Live demonstrations featured four metal systems equipped with the new beam shaping technology: FS721M-H-8-CAMS, FS350M-6, FS273M, and FS191M. These showcased the three core advantages of the technology:

- Doubled Efficiency: With annular laser spots, printing efficiency more than doubles under the same layer thickness. When paired with thick-layer (e.g., 150μm) processes, this significantly shortens the production cycle for complex parts.

- Enhanced Quality: The technology effectively suppresses process defects such as spatter, substantially increasing material density and reducing porosity to industry-leading levels.

- Cost Optimization: High-efficiency sintering is achieved without the need for ultra-high-power lasers, significantly lowering equipment energy consumption and maintenance costs.

The beam shaping technology is currently compatible with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and titanium alloys, making it especially suitable for high-value applications in aerospace engine components, automotive molds, and precision consumer electronics.

Under identical layer thickness conditions, the annular beam demonstrated more than double the efficiency of the Gaussian beam.

Models including the FS191M, FS273M, FS350M-4, and FS721M series now support customizable beam shaping technology and are available for commercial order. Farsoon plans to extend this innovation to more systems, delivering dual guarantees of efficiency and quality to industrial clients.

Simultaneously, Farsoon introduced its melt pool monitoring system, powder bed flatness inspection module, and proprietary MES software. These tools, integrated with on-site displays and real-time device connections, enable comprehensive process monitoring and closed-loop data management to ensure consistency and stability in batch production.

New Metal Additive Manufacturing Systems

The exhibition also saw the debut of several metal AM innovations, including the ultra-efficient 32-laser FS1521M-U-32, the large-format continuous manufacturing system FS721M-H-8-CAMS, the new six-laser FS350M-6, the compact, multi-application FS191M, and three new rotary depowdering stations for metal AM productivity.

Flight Polymer Innovation: On Display and On Sale

The Flight HT601P-4, a large-format, high-throughput continuous production system for polymers, was officially launched and demonstrated live at the event—and immediately went to market with signed purchase agreements.

Featuring Farsoon’s proprietary polymer fiber laser sintering technology and equipped with four 300W fiber lasers, the HT601P-4 boasts a build volume of 600×600×600 mm. With a forming capacity of 63.3 liters per square meter of floor space, it fills a market gap for large-format polymer AM systems using Flight technology. The system is ideal for either integral printing of large parts or batch production of smaller components.

Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, along with Executive Director and Deputy General Manager Cheng Jie, joined strategic partners for a signing ceremony: Zhang Dao and Wang Zhenwei from Jiangyin Xunjie Rapid Prototyping Technology Co., Ltd., and Liu Mingcheng, General Manager of Ningbo Xinsiwei 3D Technology Co., Ltd. and representative of the Ningbo Yinzhou District People’s Congress.

Xunjie 3D, a veteran in the manufacturing service sector with over a decade of experience, has built a mature production system based on multiple Farsoon nylon and metal 3D printers. The introduction of the first Flight HT601P will provide dual assurances of efficiency and precision for large-scale, high-volume industrial applications.

Xinsiwei Technology, a benchmark enterprise in domestic rapid manufacturing, boasts full-process manufacturing capabilities. Through the adoption of the first PA6 carbon fiber system, the company aims to realize integrated lightweight production of components for automotive and consumer electronics sectors, addressing urgent demands for weight reduction and performance enhancement.

Tech Talks at the Booth: Building a New Industrial Ecosystem Together

Farsoon joined forces with Siemens, Evonik, Covestro, Forward AM, Feikang, Velaari, Marl Technology, Huizheng Electronics, Xinsiwei, Huaxiang Medical, Kaiben 3D, and Nanjing University of Science and Technology to deliver over a dozen compelling tech talks.
