On March 26, 2025, according to Panda3dp.com, Micron (Jiangsu) 3D Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Micron3D”) has successfully completed a new round of strategic financing, following last year’s investment nearing 100 million CNY. The exact amount of this round remains undisclosed, with Yongxin Ark as the sole investor.

Micron3D was co-founded in 2016 by some of China’s earliest PhDs in 3D printing, including Li Shuai and Chen Zhichao. As a high-tech enterprise focused on the R&D and manufacturing of additive manufacturing equipment, the company is based in the Xifuhe Robotics Industrial Park, Yannan High-Tech Zone, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. It is committed to promoting the industrial application of 3D printing, offering specialized additive manufacturing solutions for fields such as aerospace, high-performance industrial manufacturing, mold making, and precision medicine.

On March 3, 2025, at the South China International Dental Exhibition, Micron3D unveiled its latest product, the DeskFab X1—a truly desktop-sized, all-in-one metal 3D printer. The company successfully priced the unit below 100,000 CNY, with the entire machine weighing around 100 kg. Requiring only a 220V power source and gas supply, it integrates a laser system, filtration unit, powder delivery module, and more. Closely aligned with current clinical demands, this product drives industrial advancement through innovation, offering dental professionals a more accessible, efficient, and versatile user experience.

At the 2025 TCT Asia Exhibition, Micron3D also presented its newly upgraded FF-M300S model. The revamped printer features enhanced integration and a more compact footprint while maintaining an optimal balance between build volume and cost-efficiency. It is tailored for industrial-scale production, pushing the boundaries of application across various sectors.

According to Panda3dp.com, Micron3D has shipped nearly 1,500 units to date. In 2023, it ranked among the market leaders in newly sold metal SLM equipment, especially in dental applications. All devices have received CE certification and are exported to over 50 countries and regions, including the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
Yongxin Ark’s investment team remarked: “With emerging markets in footwear molds, 3C, robotics, and dental industries, demand for 3D printing is soaring. The sector is on the brink of explosive growth. Micron3D’s proprietary software and disruptive machine design not only reduce costs but also give the company a competitive edge in the metal additive manufacturing space, aligning perfectly with the industry’s cost-reduction trends and positioning it as a front-runner among rising players.”
Li Shuai, co-founder and general manager of Micron3D, earned his bachelor’s degree in Material Forming and Control Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He holds a PhD jointly conferred by HUST and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, under the mentorship of Professor Shi Yusheng, one of China’s earliest pioneers in 3D printing. His research focuses on laser-based selective melting of metal powders for additive manufacturing, with extensive studies in aerospace and medical implant applications.
As a serial entrepreneur, he has spearheaded product development, technology advancement, and market expansion at Micron3D. In 2020, he led the development of China’s first fully independent four-laser SLM system, followed by the first fully independent eight-laser SLM system in 2021.
Chen Zhichao, co-founder and chief software architect, holds a bachelor’s degree in Material Forming and Control Engineering from HUST and a doctorate in Materials Processing Engineering from the same university. He also earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, UK.As a seasoned entrepreneur, he has served as software designer at Guosheng Precision, software engineer at EasyShape 3D, and chief software engineer at Micron3D. With over a decade of experience in software and control system development, he holds more than 10 software copyrights and pioneered algorithms for enhanced large-format stitching and parallel multithreading. |
