Panda3dp.com Commentary: Following the explosive growth of the consumer-grade FDM 3D printer market, demand for 3D printing filament has surged—not only in quantity but also in variety.

On June 30, 2025, Panda3dp.com learned that after its recent launch of a new high-speed TPU filament (“CNY 92 per roll! New TPU filament enables 300 mm/s high-speed 3D printing, ultra-wear-resistant ‘Aprint’”), Aprint Polymer Materials (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. has now released its PPA (polyphthalamide) filament family (PPA, PPA CF, and PPA GF), opening new possibilities for industrial-grade 3D printing applications.
PPA filament is a premium FDM 3D printing product that demands advanced R\&D expertise, with relatively few domestic manufacturers able to produce it—let alone produce it well.
Leveraging technical support from a century-old German materials giant, Aprint’s PPA family impresses with a host of standout performance features.
Aprint’s PPA series offers high rigidity and strength, purpose-built for industry, with applications spanning industrial equipment, automotive engineering, aerospace, and electronics.
In particular, Aprint PPA CF filament delivers near-metal strength, with XY-axis flexural strength exceeding 250 MPa and a modulus reaching 11 GPa. PPA GF filament, meanwhile, balances rigidity and toughness with insulating properties. Both can replace traditional metal parts, supporting lightweight design, cost reduction, and more efficient spare-part production.
PPA’s intrinsic advantages include exceptional heat resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Aprint’s proprietary formulation pushes these further:
The Aprint PPA family can endure over 120 °C in continuous high-temperature conditions, while PPA CF and PPA GF have short-term peak heat resistance over 220 °C. Strength degradation in humid conditions is limited to just 3%, making them ideal for extreme environments such as high-temperature filament clips (already in mass production with Aprint’s filaments), high-temperature and high-humidity industrial components, and automotive engine compartments.
Thanks to German-developed custom polymer tuning and fiber-reinforcement modification technology, Aprint’s PPA CF and PPA GF reduce warping and shrinkage during printing to industry-leading levels, delivering rock-solid dimensional accuracy.
Testing shows that the TwoTrees P1S can handle 250 mm/s high-speed printing (for infill) with no problem—and without requiring a heated chamber. Even the entry-level TwoTrees A1 can print these filaments (with a hardened steel nozzle), achieving shrinkage under 0.3 mm per 100 mm. Complex structures can be printed in a single pass, eliminating CNC machining waste entirely.
Aprint’s PPA and PPA GF filaments are available in four standard colors—black, white, gray, and red—emphasizing an advanced industrial aesthetic that lends end-use parts a polished, professional look.
Custom color services are also available to help companies establish distinctive branded products.
If you’re looking for an FDM 3D printing filament capable of meeting demanding high-strength, high-precision needs—and able to perform in high-temperature, high-humidity environments—Aprint’s PPA family is an excellent choice. The new products are now available in Aprint’s official Taobao store, currently offering a two-month launch promotion of three rolls at 15% off, for about CNY 310 per roll. |
